• Yes, you can lay it sideways. It will rest on two little arms and use the upper portion of the charging disk to charge your phone. It will work...

• Yes it works fine for horizontal charging. It sits above the arms. Also the stand is not removable.

• Hi, IceDoc. The stand for the Belkin Wireless Charger is not removable and yes, you can charge your Qi-enabled phones in either portrait or landscape mode.
