I have a 17 inch Sony Vaio, and the cooling pad supports it well.

This cooling pad is build for 13 inch laptops and not for 17inch laptops.

It is a bit small. I have it for a 15.4' Toshiba but it is completely covered.

It should because of the design. I have an older HP besides this Samsung and it does fit without a problem.
