• It shouldn't have to be removed. The lightening pin is pretty adjustable. The only problem I have with the stand is it's a little hard to take it off the dock. It's a fairly substantial charger and it tends to come up with the phone if you don't hold it down. It doesn't have a non-skid base so it moves around some.

• Hi. Yes, the red dial at the back of the dock raises and lowers the connector enough to accommodate almost all cases.
