“Is there more reliable than the standard 2wire modem that comes with my AT&T service? I am considering purchasing this modem because my internet connection currently suffers from consistent dropping of service while im using the xbox gaming system.”

Ditch AT&T if you can. They are unreliable. Go with cable if you can. I had nothing but horrible signal problems with AT&T. It never worked right.
