“Why do the top elements not work when on air fry? The fan spins but the elements on the bottom are the only ones that work/glow red so I know they are heating up. I would think on air fry the elements on the top of the oven would heat but they don’t”

There is a reason for it being called an "air" fryer!! The fan pushes very hot air around whatever you are cooking!! The top elements are for broiling, browning, toasting etc!! All it is....is a "baby convection oven"!! Smaller spaces heat up quicker, use less power, and recover (after opening door) faster!! Quite simply that easy
