“Should there be a noticeable gap (maybe about 1/4 inch) between the doors? Also, the right door randomly opens when using the air fryer. If closed, it pops open again in a few seconds. Is this suppose to happen? Thank you.”

Sounds like the doors are not set right. This can happen in shipping. It is possible to tweak the doors a little to realign them.
