When we turned it on to see if it is working, we did smell something like a burning plastic as well, but we let it on for I think 1 hour ( automatically turns off, but we turn on again) and the smell has gone. I think it’s bec it’s new.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A mild plastic odor happened on first use with food, but dissipated quickly, and has not returned on subsequent use of the appliance. I've never run mine for an hour with food in it. Your issue may be related to what you were cooking and the time and temperature selected. The appliance is not intended to operate without food in it.
