to answer your questions, the heating elements cannot be programmed separately. The oven pre programmed functions turn on and off the heating elements depending on what function you use. The maximum temperature is 480 degrees on certain functions . The only thing i didn't like were the pan and wire basket, they would not fit properly inside the oven. There were a few mm small in length, they would tilt down on one side. I used a "WILTON" square baking pan 11.5x 9.75 that fits perfect and easier to clean up. The wire basket is just adjusted the sides and it fits better. Hope this helps
