It has the matte finish on the sides of the monitor. The back has a glossy area where the monitor connects to the stand to make it look fancy. Hope that answers your question.

I have 3 different types of BenQ monitors and I've never had any problems with them. I've bought other popular brands and always ended up returning them. Yes, BenQ is pricy but worth your buck.
