The cable caries data from point to point in both directions. If the data is streaming video, my guess is that the cable will carry that data for as along as the device that you are streaming from and the device that you are streaming to remain connected and operational, and the streaming source continues to supply the data. I have use similar cables to continuously stream video data for several days without any problem.
