Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it with Mac Mini M1. I think you have to switch the buttons on bottom. One for on/off and other I think changes Bluetooth. Then go to General settings and search for device. That’s what I did.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This worked perfectly with my Mac Mini, so it should work just fine with your Macbook. Make sure that you go to settings, turn on bluetooth and pair with the mouse. The direction in the box tell you what to look for on your bluetooth settings to make sure that you get it paired.
