• MHL is a USB port that adapts to HDMI... This is NOT for the USB Port. This adapter is for the older Mini Display Ports that connect to HDMI. I am using this adapter to go from my 2012 Macbook Pro to a monitor with HDMI. Your computer needs a Mini Display Port.
