This includes car receivers, speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers. It also covers free installation of select car security and navigation systems. To get free installation, you must purchase the car audio equipment from Best Buy and have it installed by a Geek Squad Autotech. Free installation is not available on do-it-yourself (DIY) installations. Here are some additional things to keep in mind about free installation with My Best Buy Total Membership: Free installation is only available on car audio equipment purchased from Best Buy. Free installation is for standard labor only. Additional charges may apply for vehicle-specific parts and additional manual labor. Free installation is not available on commercial installations. Free installation is not available in all locations. Under My Subscriptions, click on Manage next to your My Best Buy Total™ Yearly Membership. Under Discount Codes, click on Add Discount Code. Enter the discount code and click on Apply. Cosmetic damages are defined as any damage that does not affect the functionality of the device. The Totaltech program only covers accidental damage and mechanical breakdown. If you have a small indent on your new laptop, you may be able to repair it yourself or take it to a certified technician for repair.     • Answer Hi, Elle! Thanks for your interest in the Totaltech membership. One of the most popular benefits of Totaltech is free in-home installation of a new TV purchased from Best Buy, when scheduled during the purchase transaction. This includes mounting that new television to the wall, even if you have an existing TV in that spot. We would unmount the existing TV and then put up the new one. You specifically asked about moving the existing TV to another room, and our agents are generally happy to help out with that. If part of that "moving" process includes setting up that old TV in the other room, and/or mounting that existing TV to the wall, that would incur some additional (discounted!) charges, but just moving it would be free. And haul away of an existing TV is also included for free with any TV purchase, for our valued Totaltech members.

  • QuestionThis is a yearly service. So I will likely pay twice to get that 2 years of coverage. Yes, there are other things included but many are already free. There is also a fee for each claim. Seems smarter to buy the 5 year warranty. Why am I wrong?

    • Answer You're not wrong, they're trying to get more money out of you. You're probably better off not buying either, but if you have to buy a protection plan, a yearly subscription is a bad idea.

    • Answer Having Geeksquad protection on a computer or other product is not the same as having Totaltech. You can purchase totaltech for $199 at anytime, and all purchases going forward that offer an extended warranty, will be provided automatically for 2 years as long as you remain a TotalTech Member.

    • Answer Omg. Please read this. It will not. That’s NOT cover you. I spent hours on with them today to get nowhere and ultimately they will charge you to come and diagnose your washer and dryer. Claiming that the repair will be cover once they do. Which is also untrue. Then. If you give up like I did and pay for the call. You will realize that you aren’t even on with someone who can really schedule you. They will tell you someone “should call you within 48 hrs” to see if they can get you onto a schedule with a third party. If you’ve ever been down this road before you know where it’s headed. Save your money and use it when the machine breaks to pay a repair man. Stop giving it to these companies.

  • QuestionMy home already has a tv wall mount. I would like this removed and reinstalled in another part of the house to mount a 55inch that I had purchased from best buy 3 years ago. If i purchase Totaltech membership, what would be the cost for this service?

    • Answer Hi, Wimboneous! Best Buy's standard TV Connect and Mount service includes removing and relocating an existing mount, so you would not need to pay extra for that part of the job you describe. Totaltech members get a 20% discount off services for existing devices (like the 3-year old 55" TV you have). So, that service would discount from the standard fee of $250 down to $200 if you bought a Totaltech membership at the same time. OR (I like this option), find an extra TV you might like to purchase for less than $200 (they exist), purchase that one and a Totaltech membership, and schedule the TV Connect and Mount as you describe at the same time (eg, for the 55"). In home services are free, if scheduled with a corresponding TV purchase, so take that $200 we would charge you for an a la carte service, and get a "free" TV out of it instead.
