I am pleased to inform you that you may deactivate the acoustic signals for this product in the settings menu by selecting OFF using the MODE/MEM button when the acoustic signal is flashing intermittently and then confirming the selection by pressing the LIGHT/SET button. • Yes, there are instructions in the setup of the device. See page 13 of the instruction manual to "deactivate the acoustic signal". Also, the beeping sound is very soft, so it may not wake a sleeping child.
