QuestionIs there a switch to turn the brush on and off?

- Answer Yes, there is a power butting for the bristles on the vacuum. Near the power button of the machine is another button that looks like the bristles section of the vacuum. THAT is the button to turn them on and off.

- Answer Very well. You just need to make the adjustment with a vacuum suction control button that is on the side of the machine. You can find tune it to your carpet.

QuestionI loved this vacuum! However, it just recently stopped picking up the dirt/hair, but instead spitting it back out. The hose feature still picks up though. I’m wondering what could be the problem.

- Answer No, winding the cord is manual. The cord is also very long which is great so you don’t have to continually unplug/replug the vacuum but not so great when you’re manually winding the cord.
