It does leave a strong fragrance but it goes away no longer than 24 hours after use. It could also depend on how much formula you add with water into the machine, and how deep of a cleaning you end up doing. With the deep clean setting on my machine, and doing a 2-3 dry passes, the reduced moisture left behind in the carpet makes a huge difference. The drier your carpet is after cleaning, the less powerful the scent of the formula.

It is a light clean odor not strong at all. You can also run it with water after the liquid to clear out any of the smell

No. This is a great product. Has a nice light, fresh, subtle scent when applying. When dry, no scent noticed.. I have been using this product for over a year. Highly recommend!
