“Did anyone else have a problem with this sucking dirty water back out of their carpet? The clean water tank hold one gallon and only 3.5 cups came back out of my carpet. Oh yeah, the rollers weren't turning either. .....Did I get a defective machine?”

Double check that the machine is assembled correctly. You will not pull up as much water as you spray out. The carpet will retain some of the moisture.
