I'm not familiar with the Roomba ( first hand knowledge). So I can't tell you much about comparisons between the two. I can tell you that I'm very satisfied with the Bissell robotic vacuum. It works as advertised, and yes it does have a program feature. It's actually performed on the charging module, not the vacuum itself. The charging stand has a clock and calendar with full programming features. You can instruct the unit to vacuum on certain days or everyday and specify what time. The vacuum does a thorough job, and it is well-designed. If you're running on bare floors or marble in my case, it will generally run for about an hour and a half before needing a charge. When the battery gets low, it automatically shuts itself down and finds its way back to the charging module. It's easy to clean and maintain, and the Dual side brushes do a great job pulling the dirt in from underneath counters and against walls. The center brush easily removes for clearing hair and debris. Definitely worth the money. The only Improvement I would recommend is that the unit should be designed to work with a handheld remote for user convenience, but this is a mild criticism. It's a great value and I would recommend a purchase. Hope this helps. Randy
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have never owned a Roomba, so I can not compare, but this is programmable and I love mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Bissell unit was a bit problematic for us. It broke down twice in a year and a half of operation. The Bissell unit has a limited scheduling capability. For example you can tell it to vacuum one day in a week, Monday thru Friday, or all seven days of the week. You can set the time it will start vacuuming. However, you can't have it vacuum Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you can't have it start vacuuming at 7PM on Monday and 9PM on Wednesday, it must always start vacuuming at the same time for all the days you set it for. I also found the instructions a bit confusing and the LCD control panel on the charging station was small and faint, making it difficult to use. I think that the iRobot Roomba models are probably going to be a better choice and worth waiting for. I hope this helps.
