• Yes that is absolutely correct. I own one and all I had to do was download the app to work it and I don't need to be home to arm it or disarm it. Great product.

• No, you can use the IOS or Android app. The Alexa products are comparable with this system if you have them. I currently do not have any Alexa products hooked up to it just the IOS app.
