A subscription is not required to use the Blink cameras. Upon set-up you will have access to the Blink Plus Cloud Storage Plan for at least 30-days when the trial ends you can choose to continue for a nominal fee or use the sync module 2 and a USB flash drive for local storage, you do not need a subscription for local storage. Or you could simply choose no storage option, You would still be able to access the live view, two way audio and receive notifications however nothing would record since you did not have a storage plan in place.
