• Hi there, The doorbell can function on its own with no sync module. The sync module will help it communicate with the Blink servers and keep it up to date. However, if you set it up without a sync module with just batteries it will end up in Event Response mode. • You must have 1 sync module for up to 10 cameras to work. Anything over 10 cameras you have to get a 2nd sync module. The sync module connects to your wi-fi so your cameras can work through wi-fi.
