I had my maintenance guy at my complex put it up for me. He  mounted to the wall on the side of the door. A neighbour of mine has hers mounted to the door itself, she said she used the 3M tape.

NO, it does not need to be screwed into the wall.   I have a rental apartment and I bought a mounting case for this particular camera that slides over the door and screws into the door itself with a rubber tip that doesn't damage the door.   Very easy to set up and install, nothing to it.

Yes, it needs to be screwed in. I stay in an apartment and screwed mine into doorframe. You might want to ask your apartment complex about this before doing so though.

Yes..you can use the screws that come with it to put it in your apartment...or a good 2-sided tape, that won't rip your wallpaper off(you decide)
