As I understand it there is a fee involved if you want to store video or images. Also a required account. Also you must have a smart phone. Also the wireless internet has to be in range and operating for even the flood light to work. I bought two and tested one on my work bench. I don't know exactly if or where I would install them. I bought them for my outbuilding but do not want to put a wireless router out there.

Another storage option is local storage, activated by plugging a USB flash drive into a Sync Module 2. Local storage has no recurring fee to use the feature. Either of these storage options will let you view clips remotely from your phone. Without a storage system for your clips your system will be able to detect motion, notify you of the motion, and live view.
