- Answer The Blink cameras cannot be used to face out a window. Blink’s PIR sensor cannot detect motion through glass, so a Blink or Blink XT camera positioned behind a window will not create clips when armed. However, it can be faced out a window, or through glass, for use with Live View.

QuestionDoes it only record 5 to 60 seconds at a time or will it keep recording if someone is in place and is stealing something and you need to see more than 60 seconds?

- Answer The camera will continue to capture 5-60 second video clips as long as motion is being detected. There is a delay between consecutive clips (as the camera turns off and back on) which can be set by you in the Blink App to anywhere between 10 to 60 seconds depending on your preference.

- Answer You are able to add Blink cameras to your system at anytime. You can have up to 10 Blink devices per sync module as long as they are all within the 100ft operating range of the sync module in any direction. The cameras on the sync module can be indoor/outdoor or a combination of both.

QuestionI'm looking at the 3 camera set. Already have a 4 set system. Can you add these cameras to an existing module or do you have to use the module that comes with the cameras?

- Answer I just purchased the 3 camera setup the other week and went to purchase a single camera but the store only had the single camera and module so I got that. I was still able to set up the camera to my existing set didn’t need to use the new module for it. Just follow the same steps as you did for the original cameras.

QuestionFirst what is the max distance the camera can be from the blink transmitter. Second can I use two transmitters on the same Blink account or does each transmitter require a seperate account.

- Answer Assuming a fairly standard home (single building, no unusually dense construction materials), the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink camera units up to 100ft away in any direction. You are able to set-up and access a second Blink System from the same account by using our multi-system support feature.

- Answer The Blink cameras need to be within 100ft of the sync module in any direction to operate. As far as how far away the system can be from your wireless router would depend on the strength of your internet/wifi. We do recommend at least three bars of signal strength.

QuestionIf motion detection is turned off and you are just viewing live feed are the cameras only on when you are viewing the live feed so not using battery and data when you are not viewing?

- Answer The great thing about Blink is that it does not continuously record like other cameras. The camera only turns on when it detects motion or you turn it on to watch Live View, helping to significantly reduce data usage and battery consumption.

- Answer Blink does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate, the sync module needed to operate the camera would also need to be plugged into a normal wall outlet at all times and within 100ft of the cameras in any direction. The Blink App itself is currently compatible with iOS devices running 10 or higher, Android devices running version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher and Fire OS mobile devices, running software version 5.0 or higher

- Answer There is no flash, the night mode on the XT works with IR and the blue recording light on the XT has the option to be turned off for stealth recording.

- Answer The Blink cameras record 5 to 60 second video clips based on motion detection only. You can also access the live view on the cameras at anytime however you are unable to record while in live view.

- Answer The Blink system does require a WiFi and Internet connection to operate - if it loses this connection, it will automatically resume normal operation as soon as this connection is restored.

QuestionI'm looking for a camera for use in our vacation home (we have maintenance people checking on the place periodically). (1) when we go up to our place, is it easy to turn off so we're not continually recording? (2) can it be turned off remotely?

- Answer The Blink System records 5 to 60 second video clips based on motion detection and sends an alert to your IOS or Android mobile device. You can also use the Live View mode at any time whether or not you have received notification of motion detection, however you cannot record in live view at this time. You are also able to manually arm and disarm individual cameras through the APP as well.
