You need at least 2Mbps download speeds for the cameras to function. If the cameras are the only thing on the wifi it could possibly work but it's going to slow. I used to have 7Mbps until I switched to cable and even then with other devices on the router I would get missed notification and when I would try to view live feed it would take over a min to connect to the cameras. We have 100Mbs now and there is no issues whatsoever but I would suggest no less than 7 Mbps. Of course you could get by with 2 but the functionality may not be the best. Also they don't work on the 5Ghz wifi. Only 2.4Ghz
