Blink does currently require a 2.4ghz WiFi-based Internet connection to operate. The cameras would need to be within 100ft of the sync module in any direction, as far as how far away the system can be from your wireless router would depend on the strength of your internet/WIFI re recommend at least three bars of signal strength.

As long as you can get the camera within 100 feet of both you will be fine. Will it work past 100 ft? Sure. Mine is probably 150 ft from the router and I have 3 bars of signal but they don't recommend that distance. Also depending on how many walls and type of wall will have an effect as well
