“Is this filter strong on absorbing VOCS? Or HEPA be a better route to go?”

This is not a hepa filter according to the definition of a HEPA filter. The filter eliminates 99% of the particulates instead of the 99.97% of the particulates. Yet, I have a number of the HEPA home air purifiers including the Winix, a Honeywell, etc. This one seems to work better according to my breathing. Their classic line are HEPA filters.
