All Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to automatically switch on and off when the vehicle switches on and off, when properly installed. The receivers are designed this way so the receiver will not stay on for an extended period and inadvertently kill the vehicle’s battery. If your receiver appears to be working correctly, but, stays on, even to display the clock, when the vehicle is switched off, this means the receiver is installed incorrectly. Focus on the Red Wire. The red wire should have power only when the vehicle is on, and it should not have power when the vehicle is off. You can view the red wire as the receiver's on/off switch. Do not wire Red and Yellow together. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver in this Pioneer YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/kR2MO2kwFug To turn the in-dash receiver off when the vehicle is on, press and hold the receiver’s SRC button for a few seconds. This will switch the receiver off. You may still see the clock displayed on the receiver. You can change this by pressing the “D” or display button on the receiver. With the vehicle switched on, and the receiver switched off, the receiver can still be used for hands free phone calls. You can learn more about displaying the clock in this Pioneer How To video: https://youtu.be/Xa2xUgMOxRc If you press and hold the SRC button to turn the receiver off and continue to see a demonstration of the receiver’s features, you can turn off the demonstration mode from the System Menu. You can see it in this Pioneer How To video: https://youtu.be/to2eXLPBnJI
