• It normally does not fall off the ledge but may fault out on occasions requiring u to move it and reset the alarm.

• This vacuum steers clear of stairs and any other obstacles with the use of its detection sensors. For stairs in particular, the device has sensors underneath it. Hope this helps! I have 5 dogs and purchased the Pet Hair Plus. I highly recommend it!

• It recognizes stairs. Mine has never fallen, but sometimes does get stuck on at the top of the stair and needs to be physically adjusted.
