1.) The TiVo Bolt will record the shows or movies she selects for recording. You can save shows until the 500G hard disc fills up. The Bolt will tell you how much hard disc % is used. I watch a recording (usually so I can skip commercials) and then usually delete it. I usually run 30% to 60% disc usage ... heh heh, "your mileage may vary!" 2.) The Bolt is set up for one HDMI output ... one TV. You could get an HDMI splitter and watch on two TVs, but you will be watching the same thing on both TVs. 3.) The Bolt will record up to 4 shows at the same time. You can pre-select shows to record at least a week ahead manually, or you can set it up to record the same show every time it occurs (on the same channel). 4.) The Bolt is compatible with TVs: it has an HDMI output to a TV. If a computer has an HDMI INPUT (rare to find this on a computer) then it would work (most computers have an HDMI OUTPUT). However, when you sign up the Bolt with TiVo, TiVo has a computer website that you can display shows from your Bolt onto your computer when both are hooked up to the same ethernet system. So you can watch one show on the TV and a different show on your computer at the same time. You can access YOUR RECORDINGS on the Bolt via the TiVo website to view the RECORDINGS on a computer or tablet ... from anywhere with a WiFi connection. You DO need an internet connection for the TiVo Bolt to work at all. The Bolt will connect to streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1. If it is show on tv yes. If she wishes to backup from another source it is a problematic possibility 2. I believe a TiVo Mini will make this happen but I have no experience with the Mini. 3. Four shows at once 4 just TV, but there is an online computer component and a handy phone app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1. Yes, she can record TV shows and movies. You can setup a OnePass to capture all episode of any anything that appears on your TV. 2. It will work on any TV and will work on a second TV if you get a TiVo mini to use in the other room. They will be able to access any item recorded. 3. She can record 4 shows at the same time. 4. I have never attempted to connect to a PC or Mac. It expects TV input. I have had a TiVo for a number of years and I love them. The Bolt is the best yet since you can skip all commercials in a commercial break with one button if the channel allows it. Not all channels give you the option to skip.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The new Bolt will be my 3rd TiVo box. I believe it only works with broadcast or cable/dish tv. One box/subscription PER tv is needed. 4 shows at once is correct. Hope this helps.
