• The Bolt doesn't include service. You'd want to check Tivo's site, but you can pay for lifetime, yearly, or monthly. The Roamio OTA model doesn't work with cable, but does include lifetime service.

• There is a monthly charge, around $14. If you have more than one, the other boxes are cheaper ($6-7 I think). When I purchased this Bolt, I received a year's service for free - not sure if this was a limited promotion.
