“Can I insert my own Sim card from my old Tmobile iphone 5 into this phone? My old phone is destroyed, but I have so many pics and videos in that sim card that I'd like to transfer over to this phone. Would that be possible?”

The SIM card doesn’t carry any memory in it only the cellular connection part. The way you could really pass your photos and videos is with your iCloud. If your iPhone backed up to a computer or your iCloud then you should have them in your new iPhone once you put in the same iCloud account as in your old iPhone.
