“why is there a drain hose hanging under the unit without any place to attach it?”

• I noticed the same thing and was concerned but this is evidently a breather hose so that the dishwasher drains properly and fast. No water comes out of it at any time. It would have been nice for them to explain this and they're installation manual but they did not. Just be sure to leave it where it was installed at the factory.

• You have to run the drain hose to drain (sink). If you have a garbage disposal you need to get a adapter to hook the drain hose to it.
