Yes this washer will heat the water even if the water coming in is cold

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you read up dishwasher installations online, you usually hook up to the hot water line. Our previous dishwasher used the hot water line too. I don't think you need to worry. We hooked ours up through the hot water line and haven't had any issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This dishwasher does heat its own water but I wouldn't recommend using only cold water. The cycle would take a lot longer and be much more costly. Stick with your hot water hook up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am currently fixing a Kenmore Elite dishwasher but am giving up and buying the Bosch. One of the trouble shooting tips on the Kenmore said that the water being too cold can cause a problem if it senses it. We have it hooked to hot water but our kitchen is a long way from the water heater so unless we run the hot water in the sink for a while first, the water goes in pretty cold. It hasn't been and isn't the problem but that was listed as a possible problem on their paperwork.
