Models SHE53B75UC and SHEM63W55N are both 300 Series dishwashers that feature PrecisionWash®, where intelligent sensors and precision spray arms target every item in every load. Model SHE53B75UC is 46 dBA and has a capacity of 15 place settings versus 44 dBA and 16 place settings with model SHEM63W55N. Model SHE53B75UC also includes a water softener and Home Connect™ (WiFi enabled), which model SHEM63W55N does not have. SHE53B75UC has 6 wash cycles and 6 options compared to 5 wash cycles and 4 options with model SHEM63W55N. Both models dry using PureDry® condensation drying. This is an energy-efficient, closed drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. It works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. One of the biggest differences between the 300 and 500 Series models is drying capability. Our 500 Series dishwashers include AutoAir® in addition to using PureDry®. The AutoAir® feature automatically releases the door at the end of the drying cycle to let in fresh air and let out moisture for better final drying. Q: QuestionDoes this model offer auto dry?

• A:Answer It has a drying setting but it still is very wet after the cycle. We open the door after it is finished and the dishes dry very quickly. If you have any plastic cups or plates they will not dry. We don't have much plastic in our home so it hasn't been much of an issue but if something plastic goes in we always have to dry it with a towel.

Q: QuestionMy health department requires that the rinse temperature be at least 180° or that the plates reach a temperature of 160° minimum. Does Bosch have a dishwasher which will accomplish this?

The water temperature in this model can reach 162°F when the Sanitize feature is combined with the Heavy, Auto, and Normal cycles. The temperature can reach 172°F in other models of the 500, 800, and Benchmark Series.

Q: QuestionHow close does the dishwasher need to be to the sink?

• A:Answer Hi! Thanks for your question and interest in model# SHE53B75UC. Per the installation manual, it is advised to select a location for the dishwasher that is as close to the sink as possible. Be sure the unit is installed close enough to the sink, so the drain hose length does not exceed 92" (2337 mm) and so that a portion of the drain hose is raised at least 33" above floor level.
