This is an energy-efficient, closed drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. It works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes will be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. There is a child lock function which is mostly useless. It works on all the buttons except the On/Off one. So now my kid keeps pressing that.
Turning the dishwasher off and then on again should be fine - it resumes where it left off. However, I've noticed that if it's off for long enough, it will reset - so when you turn it on you have to start all over.
This is very frustrating for an otherwise great dishwasher.
A:AnswerThe new 300 has two buttons to start it. When you press the power button it lights up the cycle selection from the last cycle. You can change it if needed. You press the start / pause button to start it (and can pause it when you find that one more fork that should go in).
