• We do have a garbage disposal so I assume it was hooked up that way. Also this dishwasher has a built in disposal I believe. There are some dishes I haven't even rinsed and they have all come out very clean. Like it alot so far. Hope that helps.

• The only way to my knowledge IS to install it into the garbage disposal. That's true of most under the counter DW's.

• Yes, although my machine does not go into he disposal it can be routed to the disposal if the machine is right next to the sink.
