Hi Charlie, thanks for your question and interest in model # HMV8054U. Yes, The appliance is equipped with a cooking surface light, to light the surface underneath the appliance. The surface light is facing the cooktop in the middle, and it is LED. There is not an option where you can program the surface light to turn on and off automatically at certain times.
