Nothing is fingerprint proof. You don’t notice most of the smudges due to the recessed built in handles. If need be go onto Norwex’s web site and get one of their microfiber towels that impede bacteria this way you don’t have to use any harsh products and just one quick wipe and done. There is a very big difference in their towels not all are created equal.

I am not getting very good at opening and closing so I do not leave prints. easy to smooth out if you do smudge it.
