Is this a hard wire or a grounded plug? null

Hi Hubie. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Pocket Handle Dishwasher includes a junction box which allows for a hard wire installation. It can also be connected via the wires to a plug. You can also order the direct Bosch power cord, model #SMZPC002UC for this unit.

You'll have to hard wire the cables your home's power supply to a small electrical box that detaches from the Dishwasher. It'll consist of 3 wires (1 Ground, and 2 Positive wires). Once you have all 3 wires connected (clamped) to the detachable electrical box, your next step is to plug that electric box into the back of the dishwasher. The plug is about 5x the size of a standard USB end. It is NOT like a standard electrical cord that you would simply plug into an outlet. But the whole electrical set-up wasn't difficult. The owner's manual was very detailed. JUST MAKE SURE YOU FLIP THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FIRST!! Overall, this dishwasher is awesome! Very, very quiet. Dishes come out very clean.
