• Hi Bev, thank you for your question and interest in Model:HGS8055UC. Per the Use and Care Manual for this Gas Range: Always broil with the door closed.

• Bev...wish I could answer this, but we have not installed the range yet as we are in the middle of kitchen remodel. It currently sits in my dining room still packaged. :-(
