Bose speakers work best at 6 ohm impedance outputs from receiver. Purchasing a new receiver now usually has speaker impedance from 6 - 16,000 ohms and is worth the added cost to make these speakers pop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using a YAMAHA, HTR-6230 amplifier with a CD player, a Blue Ray/DVD player and like you I was using some very old but good quality JBL speakers. I plugged in Four 301's and the sound quality improved, dramatically!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.301 is maybe too much for your amp to power. Get Onkyo TX-NR 929, get Bose Accoustimas 10 speakers as 5.1 surround sound. Since you have Bose 301 it will be 7.1. Add 2 more of 301 or lower to make it 9.1. Follow diagrams as provided.
