This model is not engineered to connect with a stereo receiver, as it is intended to connect directly to a computer. The speakers are powered by a standard wall outlet. For your interests, I would recommend a product such as the Bose 161 Bookshelf speakers. This pair of speakers can handle up to 100 watts per channel from your receiver, and deliver crisp, detailed audio.
