For the new just landed on this page, the only way for me not to hear the wind (and i live in a very windy island) is to turn nc or ambient sound off. Wind in my case means been outside and away from people and cars, therefore I'll sacrifice nc for natural (very little noise) background noise. The music and the on hears pads will make up for the lack of nc and will cut off wind noise
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as you have music playing, you barely hear the wind
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wind is a problem for any noise canceling headphones. NC headphones use microphones to determine what sound is in the environment around you and then they cancel that sound out in your ears. When it is windy, the NC mic is overpowered by the wind noise and can't do its job. Check out your current set of NC headphones and see if you can determine where the microphone is on each earbud. If you can, you can put a windblocker like the end of a cloth glove or a bit of foam over the microphone and it will block the windnoise and allow the NC headphones to work well. For instance, I've cut off the end of a glove finger and put those over my Bose QuietControl 30s when I work outside in the wind and they work great this way. Without the little cloth fingers over the mics, they are useless in the wind and almost are worse than non-noise canceling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I work with them outside too and can attest that you can hear some wind noise. For the most part they block outside noises, but wind can be heard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They work on airplane runways so I'm confident they will work in a mower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use these for the same purpose. I have not noticed any difference with wind, but if you have glasses or a hat under the seal, you will notice more noise sneaking in. I guess if the phones are cancelling most of the drone of the mower, you may hear intermittent noises more clearly, like wind. The noise may be the same, it's just that you can hear it now with the other noises suppressed.
