I believe I have seen this question/issue before in the questions and the response was call the Bose customer service center and/or exchange them for a new pair. I would think the sooner the better!

It seems that you cannot use the left earbud on it's own - you must use the right earbud or both but not the left one by itself. What I did to get around this is take both earbuds out of the case and only wear the left one. I was able to hear the music this way on my left earbud.
