“If I run audio out from my tv to audio in on the Solo5, while having a gaming console hooked into one of the inputs on the tv, would the Solo5 work with both without having to switch wires around? Thanks”

Whatever sound comes out of the TV should be transmitted to the sound bar, via the fiber optic cable.
