if the infrared 'control-center-lens' on the TV is blocked by the sound bar, then, yes, the TV will not respond to the controller. if the sound bar can be placed on the table in front of the TV such that this lens is not covered, you should be "okay", even if this-position skews the sound bar to the left or the right of 'center'. can the sound bar be placed on the floor/carpet, beneath the "table"? that is how i 'organized' mine. best of good-luck! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If the TV stand is not higher than the soundbar, it could potentially block the IR sensor on the TV which receives remote commands. The Solo 5 is 3.5 inches tall. The location of the IR sensor is oftentimes noted in the TV manual, or as an alternative you can have someone with a solid object (like a book) blocking portions of the TV while another attempts to use the remote. Once the remote stops working, the part of the TV that the object is blocking is the location of the IR sensor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your tv stand needs to be higher than the soundbar so the tv sensor can be visible. I'm experiencing that problem as well. For me the tv needs to be about 1/2" to 1" higher so the tv sensor sits just above my soundbar. Or you place the soundbar 1/2"to 1" lower than the sensor of the tv. My tv is not in a permanent placement so I just deal with my arm placement and angels to get the sensor to change the channel, increase/decrease volume, and turn on/off the tv. It's frustrating at first but you get use to the placement of your arms and angels to have the tv sensor work.
