• If your current setup has you listening to your tv's speakers for audio, then you will just connect directly to the TV. That's how mine is setup–I have a satellite box, but the audio comes directly from my TV and not the box. So I am connected direct from the soundbar to the tv with the supplied optical audio cable.

• To get true sound you should hook the sound bar up to the cable box directly.
