“Does the volume operate independent of the TV speakers? I'd like to turn off the back facing speakers so my dog can sleep while we listen to this speaker on the table next to where we watch the tele.”

Our TV speakers are turned off now that we have the sound bar. Our DirecTV remote controls the volume and I have it programmed to use it to turn the power on the sound bar on and off. Hope this helps
