“Must the connection on the back of my tv say optical connection for this to work? In other words can I connect it into another port e.g. AV 2 port?”

Thanks for your interest in the Solo 5 TV Soundbar, Chilopsky! In addition to the digital optical connection, the Solo 5 offers a coaxial input and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. We would recommend looking for a connection on your TV labeled Coaxial Out, and this is typically a yellow color.
